Air Quality
What We Do
Companies operating in the Research Triangle Park address air quality by meeting air permit requirements and through programs which encourage employees to commute to work by means other than single-occupancy vehicles. The Environment@rtp committee also serves as a forum to learn about and discuss requirements for greenhouse gas emissions reporting.
Air Permitting
Companies with equipment producing air emissions should check in with the local regulatory authority to review permit requirements periodically and when expanding or modifying their facilities. The Research Triangle Park lies within the area managed by the Raleigh Regional Office of NC DENR, which can be reached at (919) 791-4200. Links to additional resources are provided below.
Transportation Demand Management
It is also important to consider how air quality will be affected by employees commuting to your workplace. The SmartCommute@rtp committee and GoTriangle partnership were created to help your employees cut emissions and save money with their commute. Please visit their website or contact the Director of @rtp Programs for more information about how you can benefit from these initiatives.
